Summer Beer

Summer is coming to an end. Labor Day is next weekend, and I feel like I need to soak it up before the leaves start changing! Today a couple friends are joining me at the Greenbriar pool and we're gonna make Summer Beer! I got the idea after Doug served us "Doug's Hard Lemonade" at the Cards game last weekend. It was merely beer and lemonade mixed together, but check out this recipe:

INGREDIENTS

4 cans (12 oz. each) beer
1 can frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1 can vodka (measure using lemonade can)

I'm excited to add some vodka to the mix! This is gonna be so much fun!

OMG the weather

While my training run for the half marathon did in fact suck last night, I'm happy to report that the weather around me was AMAZING. We've held tight to the 90's this summer, pushing into three digit days on multiple occasions, so an 80 degree day? Unheard of, especially in August. I'm obsessed, and just might go running again today to soak it up.

Back on the Blog Bandwagon

So I started reading through my past blog posts and definitely determined it's time to get back on the blog bandwagon because, let's face it, my life is quite different now!

So... I'm back!

Jack is still my main squeeze, and we are loving walks late at night together. He's hilarious- I find him watching tv all the time, and I swear one day he WILL catch the bunny that's always in my backyard eating my flowers.

I renovated my kitchen this spring, and I am so happy to finally feel like my house is taking shape! It's also been fun to decorate my guest bedroom now that I live alone, and while free furniture from a family friend occupies the space now, I anticipate a killer Craigslist find will end up there in the next 12 months.

My life as an SUV driver ended just one month ago when I traded in for a sedan. I am now the proud owner of a Honda Accord! I was nervous about the transition, but I gotta tell you- I don't even notice the difference. What I do notice is the savings in gas!

And finally... I'm still running, and decided to train for another half marathon. This fall I'll be joining some other friends in Kansas City for 13.1 miles! The weather has been brutally hot this year until, well, today... so I'm glad fall is taking shape a little and I can get back to running outside.

Oh, one more thing. My friends are having BABIES. Like not just one friend. Let's see... Carly & Evan have Addie, Katie & Michael have Ben, Erin & Randy have Kristan, Helen & Bruce are mere days away from delivering Emma, and Jen & Geoff have 2 year old Taylor and baby Pinkel arrives Sept 16th!

Things are getting crazy around here! Stay tuned.
